David first came to Great Wood in 1968 at the direct invitation of John Inchley who was running his confirmation retreat early that year. Since then he has been able to visit the site every year, at least once. His wife Pauline became involved in the Great Wood family in 1976 and they have been running the Easter Work Party since 1988.
David became a trustee in 2014, at which time he was asked to take on the responsibility for managing the ad hoc weekend bookings that are so much a part of Great Wood. With so much time spent at Great Wood over the years he has come to love the place, and what it stands for, hugely. Being able to ‘get away from it all’ into this wonderful part of God’s creation is always wonderful and a great joy.
