Great Wood is owned by a charitable trust: the Great Wood Trust, which is legally bound by the charity’s objects.
The trustees can only accept a site booking if it fits with those aims. Weekends are kept primarily for use by churches and Christian youth groups. Occasionally weddings may be accommodated – if a close connection exists to the Christian mission of the trust.
Objects of the Great Wood Trust
The Charity’s objects are to advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Charity’s Statement of Beliefs in Somerset and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees may from time to time think fit and to fulfil such other purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and are connected with the charitable work of the Trust.
