Wide Open is a holiday for young people with learning disability that is severe enough to make other Scripture Union holidays difficult for them to access.
This year Wide Open will be a family holiday, with each family sleeping in their own en-suite log cabin.
We will require everyone over the age of 11 to take a Covid test in the 24 hours before arrival, and to have a further test 72 hours later. We will also expect each family to observe any social distancing regulations that are in place throughout the holiday. If you would like to find out more please email email@example.com.
We provide practical help and support to those with a learning disability, ensuring that they have opportunities to try new activities, make new friends and experience greater levels of independence. We’ll make full use of the outdoor heated pool and bicycles for exploring the site and surrounding forest. Together we can swing on the low ropes, hit the archery target and sing around the campfire.
We learn about God’s love for us through Bible stories and times of worship that are planned in lots of exciting multi-sensory ways.
There are guidelines on expected behaviour and ability, so an additional application form will be sent to you before your place is confirmed. This also allows us to properly meet their individual needs.
